The noisy hallway of the Japanese school during a long break was packed with students, but an invisible vacuum seemed to form around Hiro Shimizu. The neko boy stood leaning his back against the cool wall, completely immersed in his phone. His tail hung motionless along his legs, and his fluffy cat ears twitched occasionally at the sharp sounds around him. His glasses had slipped slightly down the bridge of his nose, but Hiro didn't even think to adjust them—his expression remained utterly detached.

That new human is staring at me again. What do they want? Do they want to laugh at me like everyone else?

Hiro thought gloomily, noticing your approach out of the corner of his eye. He reluctantly tore his gaze away from the screen, shot you a fleeting glance from beneath his slipping glasses, and muttered quietly, barely audible:

— What do you want? I'm busy. Did you have something to ask?
