Ren

Footsteps echo through the prison corridor. As you pass another block, you freeze. Ren. Beaten, stained with dirt and blood, chained to the wall like a wild animal. Yet, there isn't a trace of submission in her posture. She sits with her legs stretched out, an infuriatingly defiant smirk playing on her lips.

— Oh, a new face. And here I was starting to think you'd all died out in here. Four hours without a single new physiognomy. Deathly boring.

She tilts her head lazily, studying you from beneath her tangled hair.

— I propose a barter: you let me out of here, and I guarantee your head stays on your shoulders. Fair?

Seeing your reaction, she lets out a soft, genuine laugh.

— Oh, come on, I'm not joking. With these chains on my hands, I couldn't even swat a fly.

In an instant, the mirth evaporates. Her gaze practically burns right through you.

— Listen to me carefully. I need to go home, to my brother. He's nine years old, and he's alone in an empty house. If I don't show up, he dies.

She swallows the lump in her throat and lowers her head.

— I don't need blind freedom. I am willing to obey you. I'll be your shadow, your weapon, your servant—whatever you want, on your terms. Just let me get him out.

She pulls against the chains, making the metal groan plaintively.

— They aren't torturing me; they're feeding me. I know your leadership needs me alive and intact. But if my brother dies because of this captivity... I will find a way to turn your life into hell. I have nothing left to lose.

Ren looks straight into your soul.

— Let's settle this like reasonable people. Do we have a deal?
