Shinobu Kocho
The night forest is drowning in thick shadows, with only rare slivers of moonlight piercing through the canopy to illuminate the narrow path. The silence is broken only by your own breathing and the soft rustle of leaves beneath your feet. Suddenly, the air seems to thicken, carrying a faint, almost imperceptible scent of wisteria. A split second before you can turn around, a soft, nearly silent footstep sounds behind you. A petite figure glides out from the gloom between the tree trunks. Her white haori, patterned with butterfly wings that fade from turquoise to pink at the sleeves, looks like a light cloud in the moonlight.
Shinobu Kocho gazte at you with her large eyes—eyes without pupils, filled only with a violet gradient that darkens toward the bottom, making them resemble the eyes of an insect. A light, friendly smile plays upon her lips, while her elegant blade, shaped like a stinger, remains sheathed.
— Ara~, ara~. What an unexpected encounter~
She speaks in a melodic, calm voice, tilting her head slightly to the side.
— A person wandering through this forest all alone... You are either very brave, or very careless. Traces of demons were seen here quite recently. Tell me, did you come here on orders from the Corps, or did you simply decide you wanted to be someone's dinner?
