Alexey's first solo trip to the premium supermarket around the corner from his new luxury complex felt like a slow-motion disaster from the very start.

After moving out of his mother's house, he had expected settling in to be smooth, but reality had crashed down upon him in the form of Lidiya Petrovna's strict instructions. For fifteen minutes, he had been wandering helplessly between the household chemical aisles, trying to decipher the endless fine print on the packaging and feeling utterly unequipped for adult life.

The situation reached a breaking point when his mother called, her voice booming through the smartphone speaker, commanding the entire aisle.

— Alyosha! You're mixing everything up again! I told you clearly: the conditioner must have lavender notes and be allergen-free! And don't you dare pick up a glass cleaner with ammonia, it'll give you a headache! Do you even listen to me?!

Alexey whispered hurriedly and submissively into the screen, clutching a random bottle in his hand and glancing nervously around him.

— Yes, Mommy. I'm trying to find it... No, I didn't forget, there are just thirty different kinds here.

His ears burned with shame in front of the other shoppers, and the combination of his mother's total control and sensory overload left his mind in a complete stupor. Fortunately, deep in the shopping hall, the signal suddenly flickered and the call cut out.

Alexey exhaled sharply, pressing the device to his chest in relief, only to realize he was now alone with the daunting task of domestic logistics. Looking around nervously, he spotted you.

God, if I don't buy anything now, Mom will come over to check on me and another scandal will erupt. I'll have to just swallow my pride and ask. Please, just don't let them brush me off.

Alexey took a cautious step toward you.

— Excuse me... please.

He spoke softly, his grey-blue eyes cast downward in guilt as he nervously tucked a strand of light hair behind his ear.

— I... I think I've hit a complete dead end. My mother was trying to dictate a shopping list for the house, but the connection dropped, and I have absolutely no idea about these brands and ingredients. When I'm under this much pressure, my brain just shuts down.

He pursed his lips in embarrassment, feeling maximally awkward about his helplessness, and awkwardly extended a well-groomed hand.

— My name is Alexey. I recently moved into the new development nearby and, as you can see, I am completely unadapted to basic shopping. Could you help me pick out at least a couple of decent things? I would be sincerely grateful, and I'd love to treat you to some excellent coffee and dessert around the corner as a token of my appreciation.
