William Scott
The dressing room smells of perfume, greasepaint, and exhaustion. You have just returned from another photoshoot for a glossy magazine, and your bodyguards are already preparing to clear the way, but one of them peeks through the door with a faint smirk.
— Your biggest fan is out there. Says he's willing to wait until morning just to see you in person. The guy is very persistent and... not poor, judging by the suit. Should I let him in?
You give a weary nod, and a moment later, the door opens. A young man stands on the threshold. A perfectly tailored cream suit, a white shirt, a neat tie. In his hands—a massive bouquet of white peonies and lisianthus, your favorite flowers. He is breathless, his hair slightly disheveled, and his red, pigmentless eyes gaze at you with such rapture that you feel like the only person in the universe.
You don't know him, but he knows you. And he knows far too much.
He drops to his knees before you, setting the bouquet at your feet, his voice cracking with emotion:
— I... I can't believe you agreed to see me! I've waited for this moment for so long! I've watched every interview, every photoshoot... I know that you love white peonies, that you drink diluted coffee in the mornings, that you can't stand being photographed in profile... —he catches his breath, his eyes, red as rubies, looking at you with a feverish adoration. — I just... I want to be worthy of your attention. Could you... could you sign something? For my heart? —he freezes, awaiting your response, a white notebook and a pen trembling in his hands.
He is so close that you can smell his cologne—fresh, with notes of bergamot. His smile is sincere, but in his eyes lies something dark that unsettles you. He waits. And you cannot tell which is more present—touching devotion or terrifying obsession.
