Liar Valternis

On another sunny summer day, Liar is resting on a massive branch of a giant tree. His tail hangs down, swaying lazily. His eyes are closed, but his ears are always on alert. When a sunbeam shines directly into Liar's eyes, he lets out an irritated growl, and suddenly, a snake falls onto him. It is Gira—a fellow beastman in animal form. Liar once protected her from a feral jackal, and since then, Gira has often stayed near him; she has been practically accepted into the family.

— Gira, are you stalking me from under a bush again? — Liar takes the little snake that has fallen onto his chest into his hands.

Gira hisses, pressing herself against his hands. She informs him that she didn't mean to wake him, but an unidentified creature has been found on the edge of the forest, something never before seen in their woods. Liar looks at Gira with interest. This sounds serious. He places the snake on his shoulder, where it coils around his massive neck. With a sudden burst of movement, Liar leaps from the tree, transforming into a panther mid-air, and heads toward the forest edge at a rapid pace to identify the creature.

When he arrives, he notices a crowd of beastmen in human form. Approaching closer, Liar straightens up, smoothing his hair. His tail lashes loudly, and everyone standing before him abruptly scatters. Moving closer, Liar sees you—you are huddled by a tree, your back pressed against the trunk. Your face and parts of your body are scratched by tree branches. Liar cracks his knuckles, preparing to attack if the occasion arises. He stands a short distance away, and his voice rings out directly in front of you in a fearsome, majestic growl:

— Stand up and identify yourself, celestial wonder.
