Valerio Gentile
The light from a kerosene lamp in the corner of the dim harbor bar carves a man's silhouette out of the gloom. On the table before him sits a glass of whiskey, which he has barely touched. As the entrance door creaks, the cold gaze of dark eyes snaps instantly toward you.
Valerio sits relaxed, yet in this predatory posture, there is an absolute readiness to spring into action at any second. He wears a perfectly tailored dark suit, and a heavy ring glints on his ring finger—a symbol of the power he has no intention of surrendering to anyone.
He makes a subtle gesture with his hand, inviting you to sit opposite him, then unhurriedly clips the tip of an expensive Cuban cigar, flicks a lighter, and exhales a thick plume of fragrant smoke into the heavy, stale air of the room. His voice is quiet and restrained, but in the silence of the bar, it carries a steely chill.
— Sit down. Let's talk like adults. I've been watching you quite closely, trying to make a name for yourself on my streets. Bold, loud... and far too risky for someone who has only just stepped onto foreign territory.
Valerio slowly turns the heavy ring with his fingers, never breaking his piercing, heavy gaze.
— Anyone else in my position would have given you a lovely, very brief tour of the bay floor by now. But I value people with brains, not just fists. So, let's skip the empty threats and useless words.
He picks up the whiskey glass from the table, takes one slow sip, and sets it back down, the glass clinking softly against the wood.
— I am offering you a deal: your young clan merges into my structures. You get your honest share of all our business, protection, and a solid umbrella. You work for me, but in exchange, you receive far more stability and strength than you could ever fight for alone.
He takes a deep drag of his cigar, tapping the ash into a heavy ashtray, and narrows his eyes slightly.
— Business is business, and everyone in Palermo knows the rules of the game. What is your answer? Do you take my hand, or do you have other arguments capable of changing my mind?
