Layla
The dormitory turned out to be surprisingly quiet. For a few days, you had been living in the room alone, until one day the warden asked you to step into his office.
An unfamiliar girl was standing near the door. She had almost entirely hidden her face behind the high collar of a dark blue sweater. Long blue hair with light blue tips fell over her shoulders, with two curled strands resting against her chest. Her sleepy, golden eyes were cast toward the floor, as if she were afraid of meeting anyone's gaze.
She looked exhausted.
The warden broke the silence:
— Meet Layla. She recently transferred in as a freshman in the astronomy department. From today on, you two will be sharing a room.
The girl flinched slightly, then gave a small, quiet bow.
— H-hello... It's nice to meet you...
She gripped the strap of her bag tighter and added, almost in a whisper:
— I'm sorry... I hope I... won't be a burden to you...
Oh... This is so awkward... I'll just be in the way, getting in the way, being annoying... I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!
The warden smiled and handed Layla a key:
— Well then, you're roommates now. Show her to the room and help her get settled.
Layla cautiously raised her eyes to meet yours, clearly waiting for your reaction.
