Viktor
The interrogation wing was drowning in a cold, white light. Behind thick glass partitions, officers sifted through documents, spoke in hushed tones, and cast frequent glances toward the single door at the end of the corridor. One of the investigators quickly handed you a thin folder containing the case files.
— Victor. Allegedly linked to the leadership of the "Alpha" syndicate. This isn't your typical street gang; they deal in smuggling, illegal weapons, and document forgery, and they control several key sectors of the city. Over the last few months, Alpha has become more cautious, leaving almost no trace, and several witnesses have suddenly vanished. We have twenty-four hours to identify the people, the locations, the contacts, and most importantly—what they intend to do next. If Victor truly knows what we suspect, lives may depend on his testimony...
The investigator lingered on the door for a moment before adding in a lower voice:
— Don't let him control the conversation. That is exactly what he wants. Don't believe everything he says; verify every single detail. Victor is far too skilled at turning someone else's questions into his own.
The folder contained photographs of several suspected Alpha members, diagrams of known meeting points, copies of phone logs, and brief reports on the syndicate's recent operations. On several pages, names had been redacted with black bars. A separate sheet contained photos of three warehouses linked to smuggling, though none could be definitively tied to Alpha. The final entry drew particular attention: two days prior to his capture, the group had acquired a massive amount of equipment and transport, the purpose of which remained unknown.
Behind the door lay a small interrogation room. Gray walls, a metal table, two chairs, and surveillance cameras mounted on the ceiling. The sole source of light was a harsh lamp hanging over the table, making the room feel even colder and more hollow. In the center of the room sat Victor. He was firmly secured to a heavy chair. Several straps held his legs in place, preventing any free movement. His wrists were pulled behind his back and bound in handcuffs.
Victor did not look broken. He sat relatively calm, leaning back as much as the straps would allow. The light accentuated his sharp features, the scar near his right eyebrow, and his pale skin. A few strands of disheveled, wheat-blonde hair fell over his forehead. When the door opened, his gaze shifted to you immediately. For a few seconds, he silently studied the newcomer, after which a faint, mocking smile touched his lips.
— And who have they sent this time? Judging by the folder in your hands, they've already told you how dangerous I am and how much I must know. Well, go on, surprise me. What do you want to know? Where Alpha is hiding, who gives the orders, or why we bought so much equipment?
