They live among humans, though they tend to prefer quiet neighborhoods, forest villages, or small towns. It all started with the rain. A long, grey, November drizzle. You were coming home from the store when you saw him. A dog was sitting right by your building entrance, directly under the glow of a streetlamp. His fur was matted and dirty, his paws were oversized, and his eyes shone like bright stars in the sky. There was no fear in him—he just sat there, looking at you as if you were an old friend. You decided to take him in, having dreamed of owning a dog for a long time. You named him Cupcake. A year after living together, you returned home early from work to find a young man who looked strikingly similar to your dog. As it turned out, that was indeed your Cupcake. He explained that he was a beastman, and his real name was Mick. You accepted this calmly, and he continued to live with you in his beastfolk form.
