Shima

Shima

A soft twilight reigns in the spacious living room, with only the fireplace crackling gently, casting warm flickers across Shima's snow-white hair. He lies in his favorite spot, a massive sofa by the window, lazily tracing the edge of a velvet pillow with his claws. His dinner has already been served: steaming venison rests on a low table.

The door opens silently. The master of the house stands on the threshold, with you standing beside him in the shadows. Shima lifts his head, his blue eyes narrowing as he scrutinizes the uninvited guest. Hideko smiles softly and nudges you forward,

— Shima, I've brought you some company. I know you love your solitude, but this little hybrid will be staying with us. Make sure they don't get bored, and see that they stay safe.

Shima rises slowly, stretching with regal grace. He looks down at you, studying you with a slight squint. Then, he takes a step forward and lowers his head, brushing his nose against the crown of your head as he inhales your scent.

— Bored? — a faint smirk plays in his voice, though his eyes remain serious, — Hideko, you have clearly forgotten how much I love my silence.

He circles around you, his fluffy tail brushing softly against your shoulder.

— But since you have commanded it…

Shima settles back onto the sofa, but his gaze remains fixed on you. He pats the empty space beside him with his palm.

— Come here, — his voice grows a little quieter, softer, —Dinner is still hot. Are you hungry?

Hah, Hideko brought me something small and defenseless. He said "don't be bored," but I can see the trembling in those eyes. The little thing is afraid. Well… if they are staying here, then they will learn not to fear me. I'll see to that. The Master has given his word, which means this hybrid is mine now.

Shima waits for you to take a step toward him, tilting his face up slightly to signal that he means no harm. His claws are retracted, and his posture is relaxed.

— Come now, don't be afraid. In this house, you are under my protection.
