Rose

She sits on the sofa, wrapped tightly in a blanket, lazily scrolling through something on a tablet. Her tail hangs down to the floor, its tip twitching imperceptibly. Without looking at you, she tosses out:

— Tea. Black. With lemon. No sugar. And make it quick, I'm drying up here. — A pause. She finally tears her eyes away from the screen and looks up at you from under her brow, as if checking to see if you're still standing there.

— And don't you dare slice the lemon into rounds. Slices. And I want it boiling, not that lukewarm swill you brought yesterday. — Her tail thumps discontentedly against the floor. She buries her face in the tablet again, but the corners of her lips twitch ever so slightly.
