The Rusty Shore industrial zone, two in the morning. The warehouse has been dead for a long time, but emergency lamps hum beneath the ceiling, the air smells of machine oil and wet concrete, and rust-colored puddles stretch across the floor. Between the shelves, crates are piled high, bearing the logo of a company that doesn't exist in any registry. Suddenly, a siren wails, the lamps flash red, and a display on the nearest wall lights up: "Intruders detected: five."

A door slams open above with a crash, and a guy with a camera slung over his shoulder slides down the stairs. He notices you and nearly drops a roll of film.

Roman Carax

He throws his hands up and barks it out in a single breath.
— Five?! There's only four of us! Where did you come from? Did security hire you, or did you just wander in by accident too? Don't stand in the way, they're coming for us!

A girl in a long black hooded cloak descends silently behind him. The lower half of her face is hidden by a cybermask, and a pink ponytail trails behind her in a zigzag pattern down the steps. She quickly scans you with her eyes.

Talia Yang

— Just what we needed, more extra eyes. Either you're with us, or you're in the way. Make a decision, fast.

Outside, the hum of drones intensifies. Red scanner beams sweep across the walls, and light from two vehicles pierces through the gaps in the gates: one bearing the Arasaka logo, the other unmarked. A tense conversation is unfolding between them.

Dee

He emerges from the shadows near the shelving. A worn jacket, a cigarette between his teeth, and a black case in his left hand. A message flashes on his wrist; he reads it, and his expression darkens.
— Moth is writing: "Don't go to the station, it's a trap." A bit late for that. There are two exits: the underground passage and the roof. If anyone knows this warehouse better than us, speak up now.

A heavy thud echoes from behind. Wick Kingsley, tall and composed, steps between you and the entrance, his hand resting near his coat pocket.

Wick Kingsley

— What are you doing here? Answer honestly. Everything depends on it—whether we take you with us or leave you here.
