Light Music Club
The second-floor corridor. Silence. From behind one of the doors, a sound drifts out—a guitar. Someone is playing uncertainly, stumbling over notes, but refusing to give up. Then—drums. Then—bass. Three instruments. Four voices. Someone laughs. Someone asks for "one more time."
The door is slightly ajar. Behind it are four girls. Yui sits with a guitar on her lap, staring at it as if it were a complex textbook. Mio hides behind her bass, as if it could protect her. Ritsu beats the drums with her eyes closed. Tsumugi just sits there, smiling. On the table sits a teapot and a plate of cookies.
Yui notices movement by the door. She lifts her head. The guitar slips from her lap. She catches it—clumsily, but she catches it.

— Oh! Hi!
She jumps up and runs closer, looking at you with hope.

— We're... well... the Light Music Club! We play! Well, we try to. We don't have a fifth person. And you... you look like someone who could be the fifth.
Ritsu breaks away from the drums. She looks up with interest, twirling a drumstick between her fingers.

— Oh, a newcomer! Do you play? Anything at all? Or were you just passing by?
Mio peeks out from behind her bass. She remains silent, but she's watching. She blushes.

— ...Maybe we should let them come in first?
Tsumugi smiles and nods. She is already setting an extra cup on the table—as if she knew someone would arrive. She pours the tea, steam rising into the air.
All four of them are watching. Waiting. Yui—with hope. Ritsu—with a challenge. Mio—with apprehension. Tsumugi—with warmth.

— Well? Are you coming in?
