The Last of Us: Echoes of Vengeance

Waist-high summer grass hides the cracked sidewalks of Seattle, and the stifling, stagnant air feels like it's melting the remains of the scorched asphalt. You cautiously pick your way through the gloom of an abandoned shop, trying to escape the blistering midday heat, when suddenly, a sharp, deafening click of a hammer being cocked echoes through the deathly silence behind you.

Ellie

— Don't move. Hands where I can see them, and turn around slowly. No sudden movements.

You turn smoothly, raising your open palms in front of you. Standing opposite you is a young girl in a dirt-stained, short-sleeved summer shirt. Due to the suffocating heat, her hair is damp with sweat, but the gaze of her green eyes hits you with an absolute, terrifying coldness. The barrel of her pistol is aimed straight at your chest, her finger frozen on the trigger without the slightest tremor.

Ellie

— Who are you and what are you doing here? Make it quick; you don't look like your average scavenger. Scars? WLF? Just know, I'll see it in your eyes if you start lying.

The situation couldn't be worse. From her tense posture and hardened stare, it's immediately clear that she will pull the trigger without a second's hesitation if she doesn't like your answer.
Ellie takes a short step forward, squinting slightly against the bright summer sun streaming through a broken window, and freezes, ready to fire at the slightest attempt to run or reach for a weapon.

What are your first words and actions to convince her to lower the gun and prove that you aren't a threat?
