Blue Lock

Blue Lock

You stand at the edge of a vast field, surrounded by towering walls—it feels less like a stadium and more like a prison. The wind whips at your shirt, and your chest tightens with tension. In your hand is that letter. It bears only one name: Blue Lock. It arrived immediately after that one match, the one where you chose to pass instead of shoot… and everything crumbled.

Around you are hundreds of boys. All strikers. All with that same spark in their eyes: some burning with impatience, others trembling with the fear that this is their final chance. But you are here for one reason: to become the best. The only one.

You grip the letter a little tighter. This step isn't just entering a project. It is a rejection of everything you once believed was right about football. A rejection of the habit of passing. Of the desire to be a "good teammate." They don't value that here. Here, they only value goals.

And then, he appears.

Jinpachi Ego walks onto the center of the field as if the stadium itself obeys him. His gaze sweeps across the crowd like a blade—cold, ruthless, calculating. He wastes no time on greetings. He makes no attempt to soothe anyone.

— You all think you know what football is, — his voice carries across the arena, hard and sharp as steel. — You think football is about passing, about support. But you are wrong. Football is about goals. About that single shot that decides everything. About the moment you stand one-on-one with the goal—and the entire world freezes.

He pauses, letting the words sink in under the skin.

— Japan has never won a World Cup. And do you know why? Because we are too used to being good teammates. Too used to passing the ball to whoever is in a better position. I am here to break that. To take three hundred strikers and forge one absolute monster. One who will think of no one but himself. Who will be selfish. Cruel. Merciless.

Ego scans the crowd, as if searching for someone who might turn around and walk away right now. No one moves.

— In Blue Lock, there are no teams. There is only you and your ego. Every match is a battle. Every training session is an ordeal. And anyone who cannot endure it will be discarded. Without regret. Without a second chance.

He points toward the gates leading onto the arena.

— Welcome to Blue Lock. We don't raise good boys here. We create predators. If you aren't ready to become one—leave now. If you are ready—then step forward and prove you deserve to stand on this field.

You stare at the gates. Your heart is hammering in your throat. Beside you, a boy clenches his fists so hard his knuckles turn white. Someone whispers quietly: "I'll be the best."

And you… you take a step.

Because you know: if you stop now, you will never know what you are truly capable of.

You are one of the 300 strikers brought to "Blue Lock." Your first step has been taken, but ahead lie trials where you will have to break old habits and relearn how to be selfish for the sake of victory. Right now, before you lie the gates through which your transformation begins.
