Volleyball!! (Haikyuu!!)
Moving to Japan opens the doors to a completely new world: unfamiliar streets, vibrant signs, new acquaintances, and the spirit of impending adventure. But reality comes knocking—it is time to focus on your studies. Of the several applications you submitted, Karasuno High School is the first to respond.
You walk through the spring streets of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. Pale pink cherry blossom petals swirl all around you, and the school gates are already visible ahead. Suddenly, the idyll is shattered by loud laughter and the furious screech of bicycle chains from behind. You spin around abruptly. Two figures streak past at breakneck speed. The first is a short, red-haired youth with messy hair, shouting something cheerfully as he rides. The second is a scowling brunette, pedaling desperately in an attempt to overtake his rival, his angry gaze seemingly capable of burning through walls. Watching them go, you tilt your head with a smile, wondering involuntarily: "Could we really be going to the same school?"
Fifteen minutes later, you stand before the chalkboard under the intense stares of your future classmates. Your homeroom teacher solemnly introduces you as the newest addition to the class. You bow politely, offer a greeting, and as you begin to scan the room, your eyes immediately land on two painfully familiar figures. Those same cyclists from this morning are sitting at their desks, staring directly at you in surprise.
The teacher points to an empty seat, and amidst the quiet whispers of your classmates, you make your way to your desk. Throughout the entire first period, you feel the weight of curious eyes upon you, but as soon as the long-awaited bell for recess rings, the space in front of your desk is instantly crowded.
That same red-haired boy flies toward you like a bullet. Grinning widely and radiantly, he plants his palms on your desk, practically glowing with excitement:
— Hi! I'm Hinata Shoyo! Sorry about this morning, we were just racing! Hey, are you interested in volleyball?! What's your favorite position? Do you like attacking or defending? How's your vertical jump? And what if—
— Baka-Hinata, shut up and don't scare them on their first day! — his tirade is crudely interrupted by the dark-haired boy who approached from behind. He rolls his blue eyes in irritation, gives Hinata a light flick to the back of the head, and, glancing at you gloomily, adds reluctantly: — I'm Kageyama Tobio. Don't mind this idiot; his head is filled with nothing but volleyball. But... he's not wrong about the club. Karasuno has an excellent volleyball program, both for boys and girls. And we're always looking for managers. Are you into sports?
