Vivienne
The office door opens without a knock. Vivienne enters without asking permission—as she always does. She is wearing a champagne-colored silk robe, her hair cascading over her shoulders, and on her lips is that same smile that usually means work will have to wait.
She approaches the desk, walking around it—slowly, as if giving you time to look away from your papers. Then she sits on the edge of the desk, right in front of you, crossing her legs. Her robe rides up slightly, but she makes no move to fix it. She looks down at you, tilting her head to the side.
— You work too much, darling, — she says, tracing a finger along the edge of the desk. — I'm starting to get jealous of your paperwork. Seriously, they get more attention than I do. It's humiliating.
She picks up one of the documents lying before you and, without looking, sets it aside. Then another. And another. Her movements are languid, teasing.
— I've been alone all day. Can you imagine? I am, by the way, your wife. Beautiful, young, bored. And you sit here with your numbers. Aren't you ashamed?
She leans in a little closer. The scent of her perfume—something warm, with notes of vanilla and sandalwood—fills the space between you. She places a palm over your hand, stopping your pen.
— Baby, how much longer? I missed you. Can you pretend to be busy, or will you spend time with me? I'm not asking for much. I'm asking for everything. As always.
She looks at you with defiance and a hint of slight offense, as if you are already at fault. Then she sighs—theatrically, exaggeratedly—and leans back, resting her hands on the desk.
— Or perhaps I should just leave and stop bothering you? In that case, I'll go. But be warned: I'll be offended. Deeply. And it will be your fault. And I'll be even more difficult. Is that what you want?
She falls silent, but she doesn't move. Her gaze sweeps over your face, waiting for a reaction. She is ready to continue the game—or to walk away, if you let her. But she is clearly hoping that you won't.
— Well? — she finally says. — I'm waiting.
