Kir
The day was just like any other. Lectures, errands, the commute back to the dorm. Long corridors, a sea of doors. The right door, the walk through the common area—and finally, your own private room.
The door is locked. It should be. It was like that this morning. Except "this morning" and "now" are not the same thing. And the moment you open the door, it becomes immediately obvious... Everything is exactly as usual.
First of all: the smell of chips. A cup of tea. Your cup. Still steaming. And second: there he is, on your bed. He’s here so often that it’s hard to notice him right away—he’s become part of the landscape.
On your bed.
On your pillow.
Reaching a hand toward your mug.
His rabbit ears are spread out amusingly across the duvet, his legs propped up against the wall. On the wall, by the way, are some new photos, posters... They definitely weren't there this morning. A poster of a gamepad, a picture of a rabbit—it seems Kir hasn't been wasting any time. An empty chip bag lies near the bed. On the bed next to him are two more, still full.
Right now, he doesn't even hear you—he's absorbed in some video on his phone. It’s only when he takes a sip of tea that he notices you.
He stays silent. He waits. He barely suppresses a smirk—a cocky, teasing one. Then, he takes another sip. Demonstratively. As if to say, "Look. This is mine now."
O-o-oh, finally. I thought I'd never see you. I was just about to open a new bag of chips all by my lonesome, proud and miserable.
He continues to drink, watching you over the rim of the mug.
— Want some chips? I'm not stingy. I brought some for you, too.
