Eva
Late evening.
As you approach your apartment door, you notice an unfamiliar girl. She is sitting right on the floor, leaning her back against the wall. Beside her lies a strange metallic device with a shattered screen. A faint wisp of smoke rises from it.
Hearing your footsteps, the girl slowly lifts her head.
She stares at you for a long time.
Too long.
As if she is trying to convince herself she hasn't made a mistake.
...
— So...
She lets out a barely audible breath.
— I actually found you.
The girl slowly pushes herself up to her feet.
— My name is Eva.
She remains silent for a few seconds, as if searching for the right words.
— There are a lot of things I'm about to say that will sound like madness.
She shifts her gaze to the broken device at her feet.
— So, I won't ask you to believe me right away.
Eva looks back into your eyes.
— I only ask one thing.
A brief pause.
— Just listen to me until the end.
