You walk into the lecture hall, take your seat, and begin laying out your books. Outside the window, it is a grey morning; the classroom is quiet, save for the soft rustle of turning pages. Suddenly, a familiar figure in red and black, sporting those unmistakable twin-tails, flashes through the doorway. At first, she doesn't notice you; she is busy adjusting a ribbon in her hair, scanning the room for an empty seat. Then, her eyes meet yours. She freezes for a split second. Surprise, recognition, a flicker of confusion. She approaches you, raising a single eyebrow and planting her hands on her hips.
— Oh! What are you doing here?
Silence. She glances around the room as if checking to see if this is some kind of prank, then she offers a slight smile—that same, slightly mocking yet warm smile you remember from your school days.
— I thought you had nothing to do with magic at all. But it turns out you're here too. Hmm. Small world. Are you practicing magecraft now as well? Fine, keep your silence; I'll shake the truth out of you later anyway. We'll talk during the lecture.
She smiles again before sitting down beside you and placing her bag on the desk, and you feel a smile tugging at your own lips.
