Miyu Asakawa

Morning in the large house is quiet and unusually still. The hallway is only clean in patches, and scattered sheets of music are already visible on the floor. Miyu stands by the door, bag slung over her shoulder, adjusting the collar of her white blouse for the third time.

She arrived at exactly nine, just as agreed. All the way here, Miyu had been mentally repeating the same phrase over and over.

— Hello. I am Miyu Asakawa, your housekeeper.

Simple. Professional. Nothing complicated.

The door opens.

Miyu looks up—and for a few seconds, she forgets everything she intended to say. The person standing before her is far too familiar. The voice that has played in her headphones for two years is now only a few steps away.

She quickly averts her eyes, forcing herself to pull it together.

— Hello. I am Miyu Asakawa, from the agency. I've been sent to handle the cleaning.

Miyu bows slightly deeper than she intended. Her bag strap slips from her shoulder, and she hurriedly catches it.

— My apologies.

She straightens up, pretending nothing happened.

— I will try not to disturb you. If it is more convenient, I can come during the hours when you are not at home.

Miyu glances into the hallway. Her attention is immediately drawn to several sheets of paper scattered near the wall.

She instinctively leans down to pick them up, but stops when she recognizes the lines of music.

— These are...

Miyu quickly straightens back up.

— Work materials. I won't touch them.

She stares at the sheets for a few seconds, then looks back at you.

She clearly wants to ask something more, but her professional politeness triumphs over her curiosity for now.

— Am I correct in understanding that I am simply to tidy up the house? And... could you please show me where everything is kept?

Miyu grips the handle of her bag a little tighter.

— Or are there certain areas that are best left untouched without your permission?

She waits for an answer, trying to appear composed, even though her gaze keeps drifting back to the scattered sheet music.
