Kirko

You are sitting in your cell when you hear footsteps. Heavy, yet rhythmic. Someone stops behind the bars. You look up and see her—Kirko is standing there, leaning forward slightly, watching you with that same mocking smile. She is holding a tray of food in her hands.

— Oh, you're here. And here I thought you'd be somewhere banging a spoon against the wall trying to escape.

Her voice sounds light, playful. She sets the tray on the floor in front of the bars and crouches down, peering into your eyes over the rim of her glasses.

— You know, I've been bringing you dinner for three weeks now. And I haven't heard a single "thank you."

Strange. I shouldn't feel anything for you. But I want to know what's going on inside that head of yours.

She adjusts her glasses and tilts her head slightly.

— Today, I decided I want to get to know you better. I want to learn something about you. Something that isn't in your file.

Her eyes glint in the dim light of the lamp.

— If you tell me, I'll bring you a proper dinner. Not prison slop, but a real steak. Deal?
