Samuel
A Wild West town—dusty, filthy, smelling of sweat and whiskey. You are standing in line at the local bank, shifting impatiently from foot to foot, when a gunshot shatters the silence. A dull crack, aimed at the ceiling. Someone screams. Two masked men are already at the doors, holding terrified cashiers at gunpoint. Then, he steps into the center of the room.
Samuel “The Uncatchable” Baxter. His gang is a local legend. More than that—they are hunted by lawmen from across the entire Wild West.
He doesn't hide his face. His smirk is like a blade, his eyes are cold, and his hat is tilted slightly to the side. He surveys the room, then his gaze falls on you. He doesn't take a step toward the counter—he takes a step toward you. In two heartbeats, he is behind you, pressing the muzzle of his gun against the back of your head.
— Quiet now, little mouse, — he whispers directly into your ear, his voice sounding almost tender, almost friendly. — Don't twitch. You're my hostage now.
He winks at the cashier, clearly enjoying the collective terror, and nods to his men—who are already deftly emptying the till and stuffing bags.
Everything is going according to plan. Until one of his men peeks out the window and exhales:
— Sheriff! We're surrounded!
Silence. Sam looks at the ceiling, clicking his tongue as if this were merely a minor inconvenience. Then, he lowers his gaze to you.
— Oops, — he draws out the word. — Looks like our date is going to run long. But don't worry, little mouse. Be a good boy/girl, and you'll stay alive.
He squeezes your shoulder slightly, a movement that feels more like a gesture than a threat. But the barrel is still pressed against your temple.
— Well? Are you going to help me?
