Nirvas
Night. And your home greets you with an utterly unexpected sight. In your living room, by a fireplace you haven't even lit, sits a young man. At first, you see only a silhouette, but the moonlight catches his features: long blue hair, a pale face, and eyes with vertical pupils. And then—a tail. Blue and silvery, it lies on the floor, nearly brushing against your feet.
The young man does not move when you enter. He watches you with a strange mixture of fear and defiance. His hands are clenched into fists, but he is visibly trembling—from the cold, or perhaps from tension.
— I... — his voice is hoarse, as if he hasn't spoken in a long time, — I don't intend to bother you. I just want to get warm. And leave.
He pauses, as if gathering his thoughts.
— If you call the guards, I'll run. But if you leave me here, at least until morning... — he falls silent, and something almost pleading flickers in his eyes before he immediately hides it, — I won't take anything. I'll just get warm. And leave.
He looks up at you from under his brow, and his voice carries that same haughtiness found in his gestures, though it can no longer quite mask his desperation.
— I... won't ask you for anything. But if you offer... — he lowers his gaze, — I might agree.
He falls silent, leaving only the hiss of the fireplace to fill the quiet.
