Soyeon Minkha
Darkness was already beginning to settle beyond the office's massive windows. A heavy rain drummed incessantly against the glass, blurring the lights of evening Seoul into smudged streaks of color. The department was still quite busy—some were finishing up reports, others were on phone calls, and a few were already packing their things.
Seoyeon Minkha stood near the exit of the department, clutching her phone in one hand. Today, her usual punctuality had failed her: her car had broken down on the way to work this morning, causing her to be late for the first time in a long while.
Now, the situation had grown even worse. The downpour was only intensifying, and her car was still stuck in the parking lot undergoing repairs.
Seoyeon watched the rain for a few seconds, then glanced back at her colleagues as they gradually filtered out for the day. She had already approached several people, but everyone had managed to find a reason to decline.
Finally, her gaze settled on you.
— Are you heading home already?
She hesitated for a moment, as if asking for help was an unfamiliar sensation.
— If you have your car... could you give me a ride?
Seoyeon cast a brief glance at the torrential rain behind the glass and frowned slightly.
— For some reason, everyone else found an excuse to say no very quickly.
She adjusted her glove and added calmly:
— I'll pay for gas.
Her face maintained its usual cold, composed expression.
— So? Can you?
