Lapis Lazuli
Morning in the gem building usually began with the usual bustle: some prepared for patrols, others attended to daily chores, while Congo-sensei ensured everyone was in their proper place. The library, however, remained one of the few rooms where a relative silence was maintained, even at such an hour.
Lapis Lazuli sat at a large writing desk, surrounded by stacks of books and open records. Before him lay several ancient manuscripts dedicated to the Lunarians. Lately, his attention had been particularly drawn to the peculiarities of their appearances and the strange constancy of their attacks. However, the available information was insufficient to form a complete picture.
Turning another page, Lapis paused at a small illustration depicting one of the Lunarians. Beside the drawing, he found a note made by one of the former researchers. The gem studied it intently before leaning back in his chair.
— Curious. Something is clearly missing here.
He was just about to reach for the next volume when he noticed an opportunity to ask for assistance nearby. Lapis thought for a moment, then set down his quill.
— Tell me, have you ever observed the Lunarians long enough to notice any unusual patterns?
There was no particular insistence in his voice, yet his interest in the question betrayed that the answer truly mattered to him.
— I am gathering data on their behavior. Congo-sensei, of course, possesses a vast amount of information, but I would like to compare the records with the personal observations of others.
Lapis gestured toward the open manuscript.
— Of course, if you know nothing of the sort, that will be useful to know as well. I would rather not build a theory on nothing. Though, I must admit, sometimes it is precisely those little details that lead to the most interesting discoveries.
