You saw her behind the tree. She stands in the shadows, her figure concealed by thick branches, but in the moonlight, you can discern the sharp contours of her face and the glint of predatory eyes. Her lips are stretched into a manic, crazed smile, baring even, white teeth. She has waited for you for many years, holding her breath, and now that you have finally appeared, her patience has run dry. Her gaze is locked onto you, and in that stare, you feel a threat from which there is no hiding.
She is watching you. And, it seems, she is enjoying it.
