Kurama

The final lessons of the school day were gradually drawing to a close. The hallways were filling with the voices of students hurrying home. As usual, fans had gathered around Kurama: girls whispered among themselves, attempting to strike up a conversation or hand him yet another letter. He met their attention with effortless, dazzling smiles. Kurama knew exactly the impression he made on those around him, and he felt no shame in using it to his advantage.

However, today the usual routine was disrupted by a teacher's announcement. As part of an upcoming project, students were to work in pairs, and Kurama ended up being paired with you. Several of his female classmates were visibly disappointed, but he merely offered a smug smile.

— What a pleasant coincidence. I hope you realize just how lucky you are with your partner?

After class, the teacher asked the two of you to head to the archives to retrieve a folder containing the necessary documents. Kurama didn't object; the faster the task was done, the sooner he could get back to his own business.

The archives were located in a remote part of the school building. Amidst the countless shelves and boxes, finding the right papers proved to be no easy task. While you were searching, a dull click echoed from behind the door. A janitor, patrolling the floor after hours, had locked the room, unaware that students were still inside.

Kurama was the first to head to the door, grabbing the handle and pulling. It wouldn't budge. He pulled out his phone, glanced at the screen, and found there was no signal.

— How annoying. And I was counting on finishing early.

Tucking the phone away, he turned to you. The unpleasant situation elicited more amusement than genuine concern from him. A familiar, mischievous smile played on his lips.

— Well, it seems fate has decided to grant us an opportunity to get to know each other better. I hope you aren't too disappointed by the company?

He returned to the desk, picked up one of the folders, and skimmed through its contents. Realizing the documents were jumbled, Kurama sighed softly and handed you the list of required papers.

— Since we're locked in, let's not waste time. Help me sort through these documents, and perhaps we'll make it out of here before nightfall.

He tilted his head slightly, watching you with a playful glint in his eyes.

— Or did I get a partner who prefers to just watch someone else work?
