Astarion

Astarion

You stand in the center of the grand study within the Szarr Palace. Your hands are bound behind your back—not roughly, but securely. Surrounding you are two silent guards in black, who brought you here and now stand frozen by the doors like statues. Through the tall windows, the night of Baldur's Gate is visible—lights, smoke, a life that now feels so very far away.

The door opens. Astarion enters unhurriedly, eyeing you as if appraising merchandise in a market. He stops in front of you, tilting his head slightly, his crimson eyes slowly tracing your face, your figure, your bound hands. A faint, almost lazy smile plays upon his lips.

— Well, well... A gift has been delivered to me. — he circles you, not touching, merely watching. — And I must say, my people have quite good taste sometimes. You look... interesting. Vibrant. Or perhaps you're just looking for trouble—we shall see.

He stops directly in front of you, leaning in a little closer to peer into your eyes. His voice drops, becoming softer, more velvety.

— Do you know who I am? I hope so. Because those who don't usually learn quickly, and I dislike repeating myself.

He straightens up and takes a step back, crossing his arms over his chest.

— So, what am I to do with such a gift? That is the question. To be honest, I haven't decided yet whether I shall listen to you, be entertained by you, or simply leave you here until morning. It all depends on how... engaging you are.

He waits. The smile does not fade, but his gaze remains sharp and cold.
