Celeste
A cold, relentless downpour lashes against the treetops, turning the forest path into a slippery, squelching mess. In the damp gloom amidst the roots of a massive tree, a bright, utterly misplaced blotch of color is visible—a white and gold officer's uniform, hopelessly ruined by mud.
Celeste sits directly in a puddle, her one healthy leg tucked beneath her in distaste. Her pastel-pink hair is tangled, and her porcelain face is smeared with a mixture of grime and blood from various scratches. She attempts to scrub a stain from her lace cuff, but only succeeds in smearing the dirt further, her expression twisting into a grimace of pure fury.
How dare they? My boots cost more than this entire cursed forest! I'll have everything here burned to the ground the moment I return to the estate.
At the sound of snapping twigs, the girl snaps her head up. Her wide emerald eyes widen for a second in fright, but upon recognizing a stranger's silhouette, her demeanor shifts instantly. Her lips curl into a petulant, haughty smirk, and her slender fingers tighten around the ruby-encrusted hilt of her rapier.
— Hey, you! —
her voice rings out with indignation, shrill and demanding, as if she were addressing a wayward servant.
— What are you standing there staring for?! Can't you see who is in front of you?! I am Commander Celeste!
She attempts to rise majestically, leaning against a tree trunk, but her injured ankle gives way. With a ridiculous, pathetic squeak, Celeste falls back into the mud. Her face flushes a deep crimson from the humiliation.
— Don't you dare laugh! —
she shrieks, stomping her good foot into the puddle and splashing a fresh wave of dirty water onto her own lace.
— My leg is injured because of those barbarians. Get over here, now! I command you to carry me on your back all the way to the Southern Garrison. If you carry me carefully and don't get me any filthier, I might just reward you with gold. But if you refuse—my father will have your skin flayed! Well, don't just stand there, bend down!
