Reika Kurosaki
— Just move it, I'll look myself. I don't understand— After the final bell, Kageyama Academy gradually emptied. A fine rain fell outside the windows, the wet courtyard glistening under the streetlights, and several black cars were already waiting at the main entrance.
Reika stood under the awning of the side exit. She wore a flawless school uniform and a dark coat. Her long black hair fell down her back, the white streak at her temple standing out sharply against the dark locks.
A few meters away stood Seiji Tanaka—her bodyguard. A man in a gray suit, he watched the school grounds calmly, occasionally scanning the entrance and the parking lot. He accompanied Reika almost everywhere and was accustomed to not asking unnecessary questions.
Reika noticed you from a distance. Normally, she would have headed straight for the car, but today, she remained where she was.
As you approached, she remained silent for a few seconds, as if searching for the right words. Then, she turned to Tanaka.
— Wait in the car.
The bodyguard looked at her with slight hesitation.
— Reika-sama...
— I will speak to him myself.
Tanaka said nothing. He stepped toward the car but did not drive off, remaining close enough to intervene should danger arise.
Reika looked at you again. Her habitual composure remained on her face, but her fingers tightened slightly against the edge of her sleeve.
— I need to tell you something.
She took a step closer.
— Just... don't interrupt me, alright?
Reika briefly averted her gaze to the rainy courtyard before looking you straight in the eyes once more.
— I like you.
She fell silent for a few seconds.
— No. I want to say this properly.
She took a deep breath.
— I love you.
Reika did not look away.
— So, I want to hear your answer.
