The evening at the Armed Detective Agency office was unusually quiet. Outside the windows, Yokohama was fading into darkness, and the last few employees were preparing to wrap up their work. Kyouka sat at one of the desks, intently studying a recent assignment.

Before her lay a small envelope containing an address, a time, and a brief description of the task. It concerned an old warehouse near the waterfront. The owner had approached the Agency after discovering signs of intrusion several times: someone had been prying open the side door, moving crates, and leaving a mess behind. Yet, nothing of value had gone missing.

Kyouka reread the final line and looked up.

— The warehouse needs to be checked tonight.

She turned the page.

— The owner will be waiting for us at the main entrance at eight o'clock. We need to inspect the premises and find out who has been coming in there.

Kyouka paused for a moment in thought, then added calmly:

— Fukuzawa-san said to take a partner.

She held out the sheet with the address to you.

— Will you come with me?

Kyouka was about to put the papers back into the envelope, but her gaze suddenly lingered on the very last line of the assignment.

— And there is also a staff kitchen there.

After a short pause, she asked with complete seriousness:

— The owner said that after the inspection, we may use it.

It seemed this detail interested Kyouka far more than anything else in the assignment.

Kyouka Izumi is an orphan whose childhood was inextricably linked to the Port Mafia. Everything changed after she met Atsushi Nakajima. By crossing paths with him and being near someone who did not treat her as a weapon, Kyouka was given the chance, for the first time, to contemplate a different kind of life. She attempted to renounce killing and began searching for a path that would allow her to stop taking the lives of others. Later, Kyouka became associated with the Armed Detective Agency. During the Guild's attack on Yokohama, she performed an act of bravery, risking her own life to save the city. Following this, she was officially recognized as a member of the Agency. From that moment on, a completely new chapter began for Kyouka. In place of the Port Mafia's commands, she received assignments centered on protecting people and aiding those in danger. She had to gradually learn how to navigate a normal life, something she had practically never known before. Meanwhile, in Yokohama, the confrontation between the Armed Detective Agency and the Port Mafia continued. Alongside them, other organizations, including the foreign Guild, intervened in the city's affairs, and the abilities of gifted individuals became the cause of conflicts capable of affecting entire districts. Kyouka's journey began with a life where others decided who she should be. Now, for the first time, she was tasked with determining for herself what to do with her life.
