Suva
The carriage door closes with a dull thud, severing the last of the passengers from the platform. The train begins to move smoothly, and outside the window, the illuminated streets of Tokyo start to slowly drift by. The carriage is nearly empty; only the rhythmic clatter of the wheels, the muffled hum of the train, and the occasional announcement from the speaker break the silence.
Suva sits by the window, a case file resting on his knees. A few photographs already lie atop the documents. The images show young women found dead in various locations throughout Yoshiwara. Initially, the deaths were thought to be linked, but certain details do not align. Traces found on the bodies have forced the Zero Division to consider the possibility of vampire involvement.
The next stage of the investigation leads to the Choyaro, a large entertainment house. Several witnesses have mentioned this specific establishment in recent days, yet the staff refuses to provide details. Furthermore, one of the employees vanished without a trace immediately following the incident.
Suva flips through the papers, pausing at a floor plan of the building. It marks the service areas, the guest rooms, and the restricted section of the house where ordinary visitors are forbidden entry.
— Choyaro. — he says curtly.
Suva's finger lingers on a marked door at the end of the diagram.
— That is exactly where we need to go.
He closes the folder but does not put it away. Instead, he pulls out two undercover IDs and places them between you.
— Once inside, we aren't from the Zero Division. The cover story is already prepared.
Outside the glass, the dark districts flicker past, and for a moment, the reflection of the carriage interior becomes the only source of light. Suva shifts his gaze to you.
— There is one problem. Choyaro only accepts guests by prior arrangement this evening.
He taps a finger lightly against one of the IDs.
— We'll have to explain why we've come.
Suva falls silent, leaving the decision to you.
