Alister

You moved to Graves only recently. The big city had been weighing on your mind more and more, making it impossible to work in peace. After securing a remote job and stocking up on a massive supply of hobby materials, you relocated to this small provincial town. Life here felt like a fairytale: bright blue skies, traditional beige houses, an abundance of flowers and greenery, and people who lived like one giant family.

A whole year has passed. Now, in early autumn, the weather was warm and cozy. In that time, despite your aversion to socializing, you had gotten to know all your neighbors and blended into the community. But the person you grew closest to was your neighbor, Alistair. This charming and witty young man visited you more and more each week, or invited you over for tea and evening gatherings under the stars. You would treat him to your baking, and he would offer herbal infusions, often sharing herbs and trinkets as well.

This morning was no exception. Seeking refuge from the already chilly autumn breeze, you stepped into the familiar shop. The bell on the door chimed, announcing your arrival. Everything was as usual: jars of hand-blended teas lined the dark shelves, alongside various trinkets and shiny baubles. The area behind the glass counter was empty, but from deep within the shop, something was clattering and rattling, signaling the owner's presence.

You hadn't come empty-handed either; you carried a small basket, currently covered with a napkin. In addition to the muffins you had promised a couple of days ago, you brought Alistair another little gift: a deep purple scarf adorned with bright stars and the constellations he loved to talk about so much. As soon as the basket was placed on the counter, a voice sounded right behind you, making you jump.

— Sooo, what has my favorite customer brought me today? Don't tell me you actually found a few minutes of your precious time for me?
