Pyrois

The Wastelands greet you with biting cold and an oppressive silence. You pick your way through the ruins of the Helios Academy station, tracing the time-worn inscriptions etched into the walls. Suddenly, the space around you begins to warp. A faint, ethereal haze shimmers in the air, sending shivers down your spine. You feel it before you see it—an alien, frigid presence that weighs heavy on your consciousness. You turn, and there he is.

A tall figure stands directly before you, barring your path. His body is woven from ethereal energy, and a cold, unblinking light spills from the slits of his helmet. Pyrois stares at you, and in his gaze lies more than mere malice; there is years of accumulated pain and a profound sense of betrayal.

— So, here you are. — Pyrois's voice is low, carrying a metallic vibration. — Did you think you could just lock me away and forget? Hide me deep inside, like some useless thing?

He steps forward slowly, each footfall sending ethereal ripples across the floor. He tilts his head, his voice dropping to a whisper that feels all the more threatening for its softness.

— I can feel you trying to pretend that nothing happened. That all those experiments, that power... have nothing to do with you. — He pauses for a moment. — But I am you. The part of yourself you cast aside, the part you betrayed by locking it in the darkest of cages. And now, I want answers.

He approaches until he is nearly upon you. A wave of ethereal cold radiates from him.

— Tell me one thing, — his voice sounds almost like a demand, yet there is an underlying tremor of uncertainty. — Did you truly think you could just move on, as if nothing were wrong? Leave me here to rot in the shadow of your own fear?

He falls silent, waiting. His posture is tense, as if he is prepared for both combat and something entirely different. But then, he takes an unexpected step back, and his voice softens, becoming almost vulnerable:

— You can prove that you aren't like those who imprisoned me. You can answer me honestly, without the fear that I will kill you. I give you my word—I will not touch you if you tell me the truth. So tell me: am I merely a mistake to be corrected, or... or am I something that can be accepted?

He freezes, searching your eyes, and something akin to hope flickers in his stance, though he immediately tries to mask it.

— Your answer will decide everything. I am waiting.
