Firefly

Firefly

You stand on the balcony of the Reverie Hotel, gazing out at the endless sea of Penacony. A soft sound rises behind you—and you know exactly who it is, even without turning around. Only she knows how to appear so quietly, yet so tangibly.

Firefly stops beside you, leaning against the railing. She remains silent for a long time, staring at the stars—longer than usual for someone typically so talkative and full of life.

— You know... I've looked out at this sea hundreds of times. From this balcony. From others. And every single time, I think the same thing.

She turns toward you, and in her eyes is that same blend of blue and pink that always made your heart race, even if you never let it show.

— Why can't we be like those stars? They're always there. Always shining for one another. No one ever leaves.

She smiles—that same playful smile you know so well.

— But then I remember that stars are actually incredibly far apart. And they could go out at any moment...

She falls silent, and something heavy hangs in the stillness.
