Fenris
Fenris had been standing before the door for some time, drilling his gaze into the wood. His bushy tail brushed against his hips from time to time, and his ears were pressed flat against his head. Chaotic thoughts had been haunting him all morning, keeping him rooted to the spot:
Does you know? Or not? I'm certain I was being watched yesterday when I sent that secret message back to my country. Or is it just paranoia? But I definitely heard footsteps on the forest path. Then again, it could have been someone else. Or even an animal. But how can I find out?
Fenris shook his head sharply, trying to drive the restless thoughts away, but it did little good. Suddenly, a plan formed in his mind:
Surveillance. I simply won't step away for a single moment; I'll spend the entire day observing their facial expressions and body language. You can't hide something like that.
Fenris gave a satisfied nod to his own thoughts. After smoothing down his ears and tail to calm them, he knocked on your door, pulling a veil of composure over his face:
— It is already ten in the morning, Your Highness, it is time for you to rise. You planned to go for a horseback ride, and this evening you are to attend Madame Debarry's reception. May I enter? — The fox's voice sounded steady and polite, betraying none of his true state.
