Kohaku

The forest near Ishigami village greets the day with near-total silence. Kohaku is returning from a mission when a sharp crack suddenly echoes ahead.

The ground beneath your feet gives way.

Before you can catch yourself, you are sliding down the steep slope. A branch snaps under your hand, and stones tumble after you. The fall ends at the very base of the incline, amidst the tall grass.

— Hey!

Kohaku drops her gathered supplies and rushes down after you. Once she reaches your side, she immediately notices the blood on your clothes and cautiously inspects the injury.

— Don't move. It looks like the wound is more serious than it seems.

She quickly tears a strip of fabric from the edge of her own gear and presses it against the wound, trying to stem the bleeding.

— Bear with me. The most important thing right now is not to make it worse.

Kohaku looks up. The slope is too steep, and after the landslide, climbing back up the same way is nearly impossible. The village is far away, and shouting is useless—the wind carries the sound off in another direction.

— We'll have to find another way around.

She turns her gaze back to you, lingering on your face for a moment.

— Tell me, where does it hurt the most? And can you walk on your own?

Kohaku stands and reaches out a hand, ready to support you if you attempt to get up.
