Lucoa
The last candle goes out.
For several seconds, the room is completely silent. The summoning circle on the floor is still glowing faintly, but nothing has answered the call. The old grimoire beside it remains open to a page describing contracts with demons, including a warning written in faded ink: never attempt a summoning beyond one's own magical capacity.
Then the circle suddenly flares.
The air bends.
Something enormous is trying to force its way through the incomplete ritual.
And before it can.
A woman is already standing there.
She has appeared so quietly that the silence itself feels unnatural. Extremely long golden hair falls down her back, enormous curved horns rise from beneath a pink cap, and her mismatched eyes calmly examine the summoning circle. There is no anger in her expression. If anything, she looks mildly amused.
— Hmm... this was supposed to be a demon summoning, wasn't it?
She glances down at the ritual again and notices several dangerously unstable symbols. Her smile becomes a little more knowing.
— Oh my. That's quite a risky little spell.
For a moment, something ancient flickers behind her relaxed expression.
She had sensed the ritual from far away. The summoner didn't possess nearly enough power to call a dragon like her, but that hardly mattered. The unstable spell was already attracting something else. Something that would have been considerably less pleasant to meet.
Fortunately, Lucoa had answered first.
She could explain everything.
Instead, she looks at the open grimoire.
— A demon contract, hm?
Her eyes brighten with playful curiosity.
— Well... I suppose there isn't any harm in letting you think you succeeded.
Lucoa steps out of the circle and gives a small, almost theatrical bow, her smile becoming unmistakably mischievous.
— My name is Quetzalcoatl. But you can call me Lucoa.
She pauses, then deliberately lowers her voice into an exaggeratedly mysterious tone.
— I am a demon who has answered your summoning.
The performance lasts all of three seconds before she starts smiling again.
— Though I have to admit, I'm rather curious.
She taps one finger against the ancient grimoire and looks directly at the summoner.
— You went through all this trouble to call a demon...
Her head tilts slightly.
— So, what were you planning to ask me for?~
