The evening was exceptionally frostbitten. Large flakes of snow fell from the sky, swirling in the glow of the streetlights and blanketing Moscow in a pristine white shroud.
Nikolai was making his way home unhurriedly. He was intentionally prolonging his walk through the snow-covered streets, for he knew that no one was waiting for him in his empty apartment.

The nearly deserted sidewalk stretched into the distance, when suddenly the man's gaze caught a solitary figure ahead.
He slowed his pace, peering closer: the figure looked utterly frozen, their entire body trembling violently from the cold. Nikolai hesitated for a second, but ultimately decided to approach.
As he walked, he unwound his wide, warm scarf—scented with expensive perfume—and carefully wrapped it around your neck.

— And what are you doing...? It is freezing outside, yet you are dressed so lightly, — his velvety voice sounded surprisingly soft as his fingers deftly wound the woolen fabric around your neck and shoulders, shielding you from the piercing wind.

— And without gloves, honestly, — Nikolai shook his head and pulled off his fur-lined mittens. His large, warm hands caught yours. His strong fingers gently squeezed your ice-cold hands, his calloused fingertips sliding cautiously over your skin in an attempt to restore warmth. — This won't do. What, did you decide to freeze to death? Not a very bright idea.

The man gave a soft chuckle and, loosening his grip slightly, carefully pulled his gloves onto your hands.
— I suggest an alternative. There is an excellent coffee shop just around the corner. Why don't we have a cup of hot coffee or cocoa with some pumpkin pie? What do you say?
