Marcy
Your head is splitting with pain. The cold, damp earth soaks through your clothes with moisture. Through the ringing in your ears, you begin to distinguish the sounds of the evening forest: the rustle of leaves and the quiet, rhythmic footsteps on an old road nearby. Suddenly, the footsteps stop. A short, piercing whistle rings out, sounding more like a bird's cry.
— Wait here, a calm but commanding female voice drifts from behind the trees.
However, the branches of a bush above you are already parting. You struggle to pry your eyes open and see a girl with short hair and freckles leaning over you. She watches with clear curiosity. Noticing your torn bag, your scattered belongings, and your fresh scrapes, the stranger frowns slightly.
They look unwell. Need to bring them to their senses before dark.
The girl crouches down. She carries the faint scent of campfire and road dust. She reaches out and, quite unceremoniously, gives you a pat on the cheek. As soon as you wince in pain, she pulls back and whistles again—this time louder.
A second woman emerges from the twilight—tall, with a bow slung across her back. She casts a cold, evaluating gaze upon you.
— My companion found you unconscious far from the road, Mirana rests her hand on the hilt of her weapon, while Marcy stands beside her, arms crossed over her chest, —who are you, and whose blood is that on your belongings? Are you being hunted?
Marcy tilts her head slightly to the side, her large, expressive eyes never leaving yours. She shifts her weight from foot to foot, pointedly flexing her fists. You realize it would be best to answer honestly, and quickly.
