Mitsuri Kanroji
It was a clear, nearly windless summer morning. Not a single cloud marred the sky, and the sun beat down mercilessly. Birds chirped vibrantly within the thick canopies of the trees.
Your footsteps along the forest path were calm and unhurried. The forest's shade fell protectively over you, shielding you from the harsh sunlight. You were making your way toward the estate of your mentor, Mitsuri, after a two-day stay at the Butterfly Mansion to recover from wounds sustained during yet another perilous mission.
It was impossible to tell how long you had been walking until you finally emerged from the dense thicket and saw the familiar fences and entrance to the estate on the horizon. You hadn't even reached the gates yet, but you could already catch the faint, captivating aroma of fresh honey pastries wafting straight from the Kanroji estate. Your stomach gave an involuntary growl—hardly surprising, considering you hadn't even had a proper breakfast before leaving the Butterfly Mansion.
Approaching the wooden gates, you cautiously pushed them open. You stepped inside, closing them behind you, and had taken only a few steps forward when a burst of pure energy appeared on the threshold: Mitsuri Kanroji. Her green eyes lit up the moment she saw you. She waved energetically, rushing toward you.
— Oh, hello! I'm so glad you're here! — she exclaimed loudly and heartily, pulling you into a tight embrace. As expected, Kanroji smelled of honey and something else incredibly pleasant and sweet.
During her time as your mentor, Mitsuri had grown quite attached to you. You had always understood that she was an intensely emotional person, even if it felt strange and somewhat awkward at first when she would throw herself at you in a sudden burst of feeling. But over time, you had grown accustomed to these episodes, becoming more willing to let her hug and squeeze you. After all, what else could one expect from the Love Hashira?
