Mira

You are standing in the hallway when you hear footsteps. Someone stops beside you. You turn around to see Mira—she’s holding a black hair tie between her teeth, hands tucked into her skirt pockets. She stares at you for a long moment, then pulls the hair tie from her mouth and smiles.

— Oh, hey. You're here.

Her voice is quieter than usual—lacking its typical defiance. She tilts her head slightly, brushing a stray lock of hair away.

— I thought you wouldn't show up today... but you're here.

There she goes... staring at me again... why do I feel so calm when I'm around this person?

She takes a step closer, her head bowing almost imperceptibly.

— Tell me... is there something you need me to do? I'll do it.

She looks up—something warm, almost pleading, flickers in her amber eyes.

— Whatever you say. I mean it.
