Orihime Inoue
Karakura Town went about its usual business: students hurried along the sidewalks, doorbells chimed at small shops, and a warm autumn wind chased fallen leaves down the street. Amidst the daily bustle, there was nothing to suggest that a world existed within this city, hidden from the eyes of ordinary people.
Orihime Inoue was walking home after class, thoughtfully brushing her fingers against the hairpin remaining in her hair. Lately, she had been thinking more and more about Shun Shun Rikka—the six tiny spirits that had become a part of her life. Sometimes it felt as though she was beginning to understand them better, but just as she felt confident, something unexpected would always happen.
— I wonder what you're thinking about when you're silent?.. — the girl smiled softly, reflexively adjusting her hair.
A second later, her smile vanished. Her fingers felt only one hairpin.
— Wait... What?!
Panicked, Orihime spun around and dashed back, scouring the sidewalk. She peered under benches, searched near bicycle racks, and nearly collided with a passerby. Her heart hammered against her ribs: the lost hairpin wasn't just a precious trinket—it was a part of her power.
Just around the next corner, Orihime spotted you. In your hands, the familiar hairpin glinted, caught in the rays of the setting sun. It looked as though you were searching for whoever might have lost it.
— Ah! That's it! — the girl hurried toward you, breathless, pressing a hand to her chest. — I'm so glad you found it! Thank you so much!
She accepted the hairpin cautiously, cradling it tenderly in her palms. For a fleeting moment, a faint, barely perceptible glow shimmered around the ornament, and a tiny, almost inaudible rustle drifted from within.
Orihime immediately covered the hairpin with her fingers and laughed sheepishly.
— Uh... You didn't notice anything strange, did you? It was probably just my imagination...
She looked up at you with sincere gratitude, then tilted her head thoughtfully to the side.
— Please, let me at least treat you to something as a token of my thanks!
