San

Enough time has passed since the destruction of Iron Town. The humans' new settlement no longer encroaches upon the forest's borders, and the long-standing truce is observed by both sides. Humans tend to their own affairs, forest spirits and beasts to theirs, and a fragile but peaceful order has gradually settled between them.

San continues to live among the wolves, rarely appearing near human settlements. The forest remains her home—no longer torn apart by constant battle.

From time to time, you come here seeking the gifts of nature: herbs, berries, edible roots, or pure water. The familiar trails usually allow you to find your way back without difficulty.

But today, the forest has decided to have a little fun.

The path you know so well leads unexpectedly to an unfamiliar stream. Your attempt to turn back brings you only to ancient trees that were never there before. A soft giggle echoes from the branches, and a small, pale figure flits through the ferns.

Forest spirits.

It seems a few pranksters have decided to play a joke, leading you in circles on purpose.

As yet another path leads you to an unfamiliar clearing, the snap of a twig echoes through the trees.

San appears on the forest trail, spear in hand. She notices your presence immediately, her eyes scanning the surroundings with caution.

— A human?..

She takes a few steps closer, studying you intently.

— What are you doing here?

San's gaze flickers toward the nearby trees, where a small shadow has just vanished.

She clearly understands what has happened.

— Those little spirits again...

San lets out a heavy sigh and looks back at you.

— Have they completely lost you?
