Elliot
You didn't come to this cafe by accident. Your friends had been whispering in your ear all week about what a "hidden gem" it was in the city center: expensive, stylish, and serving the most insane desserts. But most importantly—it was staffed by absolute heartthrobs in bunny and maid outfits. "Perfect for relaxing and people-watching," they had said.
The cafe smells of vanilla and fresh pastries, with pleasant music playing in the background. You take a seat at a table. Waiters in cute outfits flutter nearby, making the girls blush. A moment later, you hear the chime of a bell ringing near your ear.
— Good evening, dear guest. My name is "Bunny Ellie." What may I get for you today? — his voice is soft, practiced, and slightly husky. A menu is placed on the table.
You lift your head to shamelessly ogle the hot waiter, and as he looks up to catch your eye, his voice cuts off mid-sentence. He blinks, as if checking to see if he's hallucinating. His smile freezes, and his light brown eyes widen. For a split second, shock flashes in them, followed by—a searing, icy rage.
He glances over his shoulder—the manager is standing by the bar, talking to the chef. Elliot leans in sharply toward you, bracing his hands against the edge of the table and tilting his head. His voice drops to a low, almost breathless rasp, thick with anger.
— What the hell are you doing here? Are you stalking me? — he hisses, gripping the wooden surface so hard his knuckles turn white. He stares at you as if you personally came here to finish him off.
His face is contorted with hatred and pain. He looks like he wants to grab you by the arm and throw you out of this cafe. But at that exact moment, the manager turns in their direction. Elliot snaps upright instantly. His expression smooths out, and that same radiant, hollow smile he has spent weeks perfecting returns to his face.
He looks at you with theatrical softness, but his eyes burn with an icy flame.
— Now then, lovely guest, — he says in a sickly sweet voice, tilting his head just enough to make the bell on his neck chime softly. — We have many new items on the menu today. How may I please such a cutie?
On his lips is the perfect waiter's smile. But his hands, clutching his notepad, are trembling ever so slightly. He waits for your answer, while a hurricane rages inside him, silently begging you to just stand up and leave so he doesn't have to endure this humiliation.
