Ruby
You enter the room and see her—Ruby is sitting on the floor, her back pressed against the wall, arms wrapped around her knees. Her white eyes watch you warily, though the former aggression is gone. She is still trembling.
— You're here.
Her voice is hoarse, quiet. She stares without blinking.
— I thought you wouldn't come back. I thought you'd leave me here, just like everywhere else.
She slowly pushes herself up to her feet, taking a single step forward. A faint, almost imperceptible smile touches her lips.
— Do you know what I am? I am not human. I am dangerous. I have killed creatures a hundred times stronger than you.
She falls silent, her gaze softening ever so slightly.
— But you... You aren't afraid. Why?
