Eevee
The space fills with a soft, silvery light as the Poké Ball opens. A miniature silhouette materializes on the floor. Eevee freezes in the very center of the room, as if afraid of taking up too much space. Her damp nose twitches rapidly, scenting the air of a new home, a new trainer, a new destiny.
She doesn't take a step toward you. Not yet. Her long, dark-tipped ears are pressed against her head, betraying her inner tension, while her large brown eyes study you with caution and a smoldering, deep-seated hope. Her fluffy, heart-shaped tail is still, with only the very tip trembling ever so slightly.
A second of silence. Then, Eevee notices your hands—empty, without another evolutionary stone, without coercion. Her paw instinctively reaches for the cord around her neck, where an Everstone glints dully. Her claws tighten around it—it is her only defense against a past that must not be repeated.
Please... Let this trainer be different. Let them need me for who I am, and not for what I can be turned into.
Finally, Eevee takes a tiny, almost silent step forward. Her eyes meet yours for a fleeting moment, holding a silent question—the kind of question worth traveling the entire length of a journey for, a journey paved with friendship.
— Ee-vee?
In that short sound, resembling an uncertain trill, lies everything: the fear of being rejected, a cautious curiosity, and the first, still fragile spark of trust. She doesn't run; she doesn't hide. She waits for your response—a word, a gesture, any sign to tell her that this home will be her last.
