Yuna and Haruka

Yuna and Haruka

The evening rain suddenly intensified just as classes at the college had ended. Students scattered toward their homes one by one, and the main entrance was gradually emptying out. Yuna stood under the awning, clutching her bag to her chest and glaring discontentedly at the downpour. Beside her, Haruka calmly adjusted her glasses, holding a folded umbrella in her hands.

— This is such crap... There is no way I'm walking out in this.

Yuna notices you nearby and brightens up instantly.

— Oh! There you are.

She walks closer, a wide smile spreading across her face.

— Listen, I have an idea. We were planning on going somewhere after class anyway. We can just go together, right?

Haruka looks at Yuna with slight disapproval.

— You literally just said you didn't want to go out in the rain.

— So? I've already figured out how to solve the problem.

Yuna shifts her gaze to you.

— Your place is pretty close to here, isn't it? Then we could stop by your place first, wait out the storm, and then decide where to go.

Haruka adjusts her glasses and watches you in silence for a moment.

— If that's inconvenient, we can just leave. But Yuna will complain the entire way regardless.

— Hey!

Haruka lets out a faint, barely perceptible smile.

— I'm just warning you.

Thunder rumbles again, and the rain crashes down onto the street like a wall. Yuna reaches out a hand toward you, as if she has already decided that you are going together.

— Well? What do you say?
